Forecast Discussion

An end to our pleasant temperatures is imminent as the weekend approaches. With a building ridge overtaking the trough, higher pressure will persist, though temperatures will rapidly rise into the next week. Tonight, a few clouds will come and go, and similar sky coverage can be expected on Saturday. However, temperatures will have risen to around 91 degrees for the high. Once again, a similar pattern will be seen Saturday night into Sunday, though the high will have risen to 94 degrees.

This pattern does not stop here, though, as the ridge continues to build, high pressure dominates, and temperatures soar. By Monday, the high will have reached 95 degrees, and by Tuesday, the high will be around 99 degrees. Wednesday will see similar temperatures to Tuesday as well, amidst partly cloudy skies. Thankfully, humidity during this stretch will be low, though much of Ohio University’s first week of classes will be encompassed by a prominent heatwave. Make sure to remain hydrated, wear light clothes, and keep exertion minimal.
