The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch beginning February 15th at 7 am and remaining in effect until February 17th at 1 am. The risk of flooding is due to a significant weather system that will bring large amounts of rain to the area throughout the day on Saturday into Sunday morning. Tonight, conditions will become cloudy as the system moves into the Athens area overnight with showers beginning around 8am Saturday. Saturdays temperatures will be warmer with a high of 45 and a low of 38. Sunday, temperatures will be warm with a high of 52 and conditions clearing into the afternoon. Next week temperatures will dip back down into the 20’s and snow is possible on Wednesday.
