Forecast Discussion

A broad longwave trough is slowly moving over the region. Tonight the weather will be pretty calm, but Saturday severe thunderstorms will be possible as a surface low pressure system brings a warm front through. The National Weather Service Hazardous Weather Outlook details that the main threats are damaging winds and large hail due to the amount of instability. Thankfully, a tornado threat does not look to be present, but make sure to stay up-to-date on current and changing forecasts in the event things trend that way with this Marginal Risk issued by the Storm Prediction Center.

For the extended forecast, chances for rain and thunderstorms look to stick around as this unsettled pattern is still going to be moving slowly east and bringing more frontal passages to the region.
