The approaching night to a calm day today will see increasing clouds as the evening continues, becoming mostly cloudy into the morning. This is mainly due to a series of upper-level shortwaves over the Midwest, and also in-part due to a low pressure system passing southward of our region. A scattered shower is unlikely but still possible on Saturday, though any large rains seem out of the picture for now. These clouds will thin by the night, though another round of clouds will make for another mainly overcast day on Sunday as the shortwave draws closer.

The beginning of the new week looks to be mainly the same. Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday all appear to be overcast, and a developing low pressure near the area by Tuesday will funnel in some more moisture for rain along its fronts, with the early morning hours of Wednesday looking most likely for some showers and thunderstorms. This will serve to drop temperatures back down to the mid 80s, though with temperatures up until then remaining in the upper 80s, this is a rather insignificant change given the pattern of gloomy weather that has developed and will continue to linger through next week.
