Forecast Discussion

After the passage of a cold front yesterday evening, skies have gradually begun to clear out as upper level ridging and high pressure at the surface build into the area. Since skies are continuing to clear this evening, areas of patchy fog will be possible heading into the overnight hours and early Saturday. This will cause a gradual warming trend as the weekend progresses, with highs reaching the mid 80s by Sunday. This ridging pattern will only dominate for the short term, however, as models are showing an upper level disturbance approaching the area, giving chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms beginning Juneteenth through much of the new work week. These chances will be mainly diurnal, with the upper disturbance moving through the dominating ridging pattern.
