Forecast Discussion

Significant high pressure continues to persist in our region for the next few days. Tonight, temperatures will once again plunge to the mid 30s amidst clear skies. A slight warmup is to be expected this weekend, with a daytime high reaching around 74 degrees on Saturday as a result of some upper-level ridging. With high pressure keeping things calm, minimal wind and cloud cover is further expected. Temperatures once again drop to the high 30s overnight Saturday, and conditions are expected to be nearly exact on Sunday, making for a very peaceful weekend.

Higher pressure will weaken as the new week begins, and an upper-level shortwave that will bump into the area late on Wednesday will serve to break up the stagnant pattern with a weak surface cold front. Until then, temperatures will continue to rise to the high 70s by the midweek, with a few clouds arriving later on Tuesday.
