The trough is continuing overhead in the upper levels and will do so through Tuesday morning. Short, light-scattered showers are expected through this period. Surface high pressure will begin to build into Tuesday evening and linger into Wednesday allowing for the skies to clear slightly and afternoon temperatures to build into the upper-60s.  Although this break from the showers will be gratefully accepted, it will not last long as another cutoff low-pressure system will enter the region Thursday evening and bring additional rain showers through at least Saturday. The cold front associated with this system will drop afternoon temperatures back into the high-50s to low-60s.
