Heat and humidity will remain into early next week ahead of a cold front approaching Monday. For tomorrow, a slight chance of afternoon and evening showers will remain in the area due to high moisture. The front will then approach Monday, with precipitation chances increasing throughout the morning hours. It’s still uncertain whether this front will clear our area or stall to the north, which could have large effects on the amount of rain we’ll get going into next week. The inland track of Ida’s remnants paired with the cold front will make for a very wet midweek as showers and storms are expected to continue throughout Tuesday and Wednesday. Due to these conditions and the full scope of the event being just outside the short-term models, rainfall estimates will be tricky this early on. However, we are at a marginal risk for excessive rainfall, meaning flooding definitely be possible. Clearing is expected near the end of the week once the system leaves our area.
