Forecast Discussion
Heavier cloud coverage will continue to linger in the area tonight with lows dropping to around 30. A short-wave trough will move over the region tomorrow and provide a chance for rain by the afternoon. As temperatures drop below freezing Sunday night, a transition to rain-snow mix will be likely before the precip dissipates. Some light snow will be possible through Monday from the remanence of this system, with temperatures lingering in the mid-30s. A jet streak in the Midwest will allow for a weak low to develop, providing another slight chance for rain-snow mix the night of Christmas Eve into Christmas Day. We are expected to remain dry for the bulk of the day on Christmas however, with temperatures struggling to break 40 again.
