Forecast Discussion
Winter Storm Warning in effect from January 16, 02:00 PM EST until January 17, 01:00 PM EST.
A major winter storm will affect SE OH tomorrow into Monday, bringing heavy snowfall and some ice accumulation. Cloud cover will increase throughout tomorrow with precip starting to roll in during the afternoon. Things will start off as a wintry mix, likely sleet or freezing rain. A surge of moisture paired with falling temperatures in the early evening will shift precip to snow. Heavy, wet snow will continue into the overnight hours, with the possibility of 1″ per hour snowfall rates. Travel will be near impossible tomorrow and is extremely ill-advised. Scattered power outages may also be an issue due to high snowfall rates. 5-8″ is expected over the majority of SE OH, but areas to our east could see an upwards of 10″. Scattered snow showers will linger Monday as the system departs. Keep an eye on our social media for updates leading up to the event regarding snowfall totals and the tracking of the system.
