Forecast Discussion

Mild overnight lows will persist tonight from the heat wave that brought us very uncomfortable conditions. While the excessive heat warning has expired, we can still expect hot and humid conditions for Sunday as highs continue to approach the lower 90s coupled with dewpoints in the lower 70s. Heat index values will still be near 100 during the afternoon, but cloud coverage will begin to increase with an approaching cold front. A stray afternoon shower is possible, but a heavier line of storms is expected to move through during the late evening hours. Monday will continue to see periods of scattered showers and storms throughout the day, which will provide significant relief form the extremely hot temperatures. Chances for rain begin to diminish on Tuesday as the cold front exits the region, providing slightly cooler and drier air through the end of the work week.
