Forecast Discussion

The weekend has kicked off with some nice rain and clouds for the region. The longwave trough that has brought us this weather is going to slowly exit off to our east. A stationary front has set up over much of the Ohio Valley which is going to linger and continue to bring us clouds for the next few days, but the chance of rain diminishes greatly tonight as this front will begin to push southward as a cold front. Temperatures will be persistent in the high 70s, possibly reaching into the low 80s for the short-term forecast period.

During the 72-hour extended forecast period, a chance for rain returns as a shortwave disturbance in the upper levels will move through, and another weak cold front will sweep through from the north. High temperatures will drop some, but they will likely still be in the low 70s, and we expect them to return to the mid to high-70s after this. This will likely change, so make sure to stay tuned to future forecasts and social media posts for updates early next week!
