Forecast Discussion

High pressure will continue to dominate our region through tonight into first half of tomorrow. As the high pressure moves eastward, we will note some increase in cloud coverage through afternoon hours with temperatures soaring into lower 80’s after chilly start to the morning. Clouds will continue to thicken out ahead of an approaching area of scattered to numerous precipitation shield by late Saturday evening. An area of low pressure will track through Michigan through Sunday into first half of Monday. This system will have a cold front, which extends down, into Illinois by Sunday morning which will gradually move eastward and clear our area by Monday afternoon and end the precipitation risk. We will get break from precipitation from Monday evening through Tuesday evening before rain chances increase again heading into mid-week period. Our temperatures will remain above several degrees above normal, more typical of early-mid September compared to October.
