Forecast Discussion
A stagnant pattern persists over much of the eastern United States. Overnight tonight, clear skies and calm conditions will persist through Sunday, with a similar high near 90 degrees expected. Overnight on Sunday, clear skies are to be expected once again, and will similarly carry on through Monday. However, a deviation from the usual pattern is in store from Monday into the new week as a subtropical Low pushes into the East Coast from the Atlantic. This will allow for more clouds to arrive overnight Monday into Tuesday, and a drop in the daytime highs as a shortwave trough develops, with Monday’s high near 86 degrees.
Tuesday will be mainly cloudy, and later in the day as the Low approaches the Appalachian Region, a chance of showers may develop through Wednesday as well. The highs for Tuesday to Wednesday will be near 80 degrees, though eventually this system will weaken and be forced further south, in which temperatures return to the mid 80s by Thursday, with plenty more moisture lingering in the area to make for some more humid and hot weather to continue the week.
