Forecast Discussion

A large ridge over the eastern USA granted us sunny and clear skies with some dry highs. As we start up our week, a steady warming trend will move temperatures up into the above-average range of low 90s. Chances of rain appear on Tuesday as a cold front may bring some afternoon showers, but chances are still on the lower end, and the National Weather Service has Athens, OH is in a broad chance for general thunderstorms.

From Tuesday night into the day Wednesday, however, rain chances are much higher, and thunderstorms may be possible. The Weather Prediction Center has the majority of Ohio under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 4) for possible isolated flash floods. Afterwards, temperatures will rise again – maybe back into the low 90s – and be a hot finish to the week!
