Technical Forecast Discussion

Short-term Forecast (Sunday 08/11/2024 through Tuesday 08/13/2024):

A region of broad surface high pressure will remain over the region for much of the week allowing pleasant summer conditions. A mid/upper level shortwave trough will move through the flow Monday clouding the skies over Monday night. Otherwise, skies will remain clear through much of the work week. Daytime highs will remain fairly comfortable with highs in the low to mid 80s. Nightime temperatures will drop into the low 60s due to the lack of cloud cover insulation. Humidity levels will also remain fairly low allowing these warmer conditions to remain bearable.

Long-term Forecast (Wednesday 08/14/2024 through Saturday 08/17/2024):

Wednesday into Thursday, conditions will remain comparable to the short-term forecast and temperatures will continue to rise. Friday, a warm front will move into the area brought to us by a low pressure system moving in from the northwest. Moisture will be replenished to the area increasing both humidity and cloud coverage. The chance for thunderstorms and showers due to the increase in moisture and instability will build Friday into Saturday.
