Forecast Discussion

Winter Storm Warning in effect from January 16, 2:00 PM EST until January 17, 1:00 PM EST

Hazardous Weather Outlook

Tonight will feature snow as the winter storm takes full effect on our area. Some of the snow will be heavy at times, so please use caution while traveling, as roads will be slick and wind gusts up to 25 mph will be possible. Total snow accumulations of 6″-9″ can be expected by the end of this event. Snow showers will linger in the area on Monday, ending completely by Monday afternoon. High pressure builds into the area on Tuesday, providing dry weather for the day and calmer winds. Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week ahead of an approaching cold front from the west. This front will bring a chance for rain, transitioning to snow Wednesday night as temperatures fall into the teens. High pressure will then dominate for the rest of the week after the frontal passage, along with very cold air.
