Technical Forecast Discussion
Short-term Forecast (Sunday 10/27/2024 through Tuesday 10/29/2024):
Unseasonably warm temperatures will persist as the high pressure system that has been parked over the region progresses eastward. The increase in a southerly breeze will allow this warming trend to initiate over the next couple of days. Dew point temperatures will lower as dry air aloft progresses over the region. A disturbance will pass northward of the area Tuesday, gradually increasing cloud coverage throughout the day into the evening. Dry and warm conditions are anticipated for the beginning of the week making for an interesting end to October. Drought conditions continue to persist due to the lack of notable precipitation. This in combination with the dry air may warrant the risk of fire weather so, be cautious with any outdoor burning.
Long-term Forecast (Wednesday 10/30/2024 through Saturday 11/02/2024):
Similar conditions to the short-term forecast will be present for the start of the long-term. Unseasonably warm daytime high temperatures will persist with temperatures in the upper 70s, near 80s. This will change by Friday as a cold frontal passage is anticipated late Thursday into Friday morning. There is also a chance for some rain showers to accompany this cold front Thursday evening and before 10am Friday. While a notable amount of precipitation is not anticipated, anything is noteworthy due to our current drought conditions. Following this front, daytime high temperatures will return to the low 60s and high pressure will once again settle into the region.
