Technical Forecast Discussion

Short-term Forecast (Sunday 09/01/2024 through Tuesday 09/03/2024):

High pressure will dominate for the start of the week providing far more pleasant conditions than the start of the previous week. With winds shifting to northerly, drier and cooler air will be entering the region with low humidity and daytime highs in the upper 70s and low 80s. With clear skies overnight, low temperatures will drop into the upper 50s following near 80 degree daytime highs due to the lack of insulation of clouds. A fairly uneventful but pleasant start to the week!

Long-term Forecast (Wednesday 09/04/2024 through Saturday 09/07/2024):

There is some uncertainty among models for a definitive long-term forecast but the general consensus is that winds with shift and deliver some southernly moisture thus increasing humidity and cloud coverage. This is also dependent on an incoming midlatitude cyclone to the north of the region that will sweep a cold front across the region bringing instability, cooler conditions, and potentially precipitation. The timing on this cold front is uncertain but can potentially be expected to arrive on Friday evening into Saturday. Otherwise, conditions for much of the week will remain uneventful and much cooler than the previous week. Happy September!
