Forecast Discussion

Showers will continue to move east/northeast across the area ahead of a passing cold front. Cloudy skies will suppress heating and the formation of thunder this evening, but an isolated thunderstorm cannot be ruled out. A surface high pressure will build behind the cold front as it pushes south/southeast over the area tonight. Zonal flow aloft along with the surface high pressure will result in pleasant weather Monday night into Tuesday evening. An upper level trough will then dig into the Great Lakes and the Ohio Valley region late Tuesday night through Wednesday night, forcing a cold front into the area. Mainly light showers and a possible thunderstorm can be expected on Wednesday, with precipitation chances diminishing by Wednesday evening. High pressure will build into the area Thursday and Friday, bringing pleasant weather and highs in the 70s. Temperatures will slowly moderate towards the weekend as the upper level trough lifts out. Dry weather looks likely for now, but models vary on whether any weak systems will affect the area during the weekend.
