Forecast Discussion

Tonight will be a mainly clear night, with patchy valley fog expected to form from radiational cooling. Ridging that has been dominating for much of the week will begin to shift east tonight due to an upper trough and weak surface cold front coming in from the west. This will in turn create chances for showers and isolated thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon/evening ahead of these approaching systems. After the front crosses through Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday should be relatively quiet, although a few pop up showers or an embedded thunderstorm are possible with southerly flow increasing. Starting next week, however, another trough will pass overhead, bringing yet another cold front into the area sometime mid week, which will produce nearly daily chances for showers and thunderstorms up until then. Although many different disturbances will be moving through, temperatures will still remain relatively toasty, with highs in the mid 80s.
