An active pattern for weather has developed in our area. Rain showers will taper off early after today’s soaking rain, which totaled to over 0.6 inches. Overnight, overcast skies will still persist, though by mid-Friday, cloud cover will begin to break up more, leading to partly cloudy conditions to round out much of the day before night falls. Friday will see increasing clouds once more as another low pressure system tracks into the Southeastern Ohio region late Friday. This system packs a lot of cold air behind its cold front, which will likely swing through the area early Saturday morning.

Quite the weather whiplash; along this cold front, snow will develop, potentially leading to accumulations of half an inch in our area by the time the system leaves in the late Saturday morning timeframe. Saturday will also begin cloudy, but will resume a more clear, cloudless sky by the afternoon, though colder at a high of 40 degrees. If that sudden change wasn’t enough, temperatures throughout the week will dramatically increase to nearly 70 degrees by Tuesday alongside some rain showers, which could potentially usher in more turbulent weather to close out next week as well.
