Forecast Discussion
High pressure continues to remain in control across the Great Lakes Region, creating mostly clear skies overnight with the chance for patchy fog south of Athens into West Virginia. As the high shifts further east Friday, winds will shift from out of the north to out of the south, ushering in elevated temperatures and dew points for the weekend. Daytime highs will reach close to 90 degrees by Saturday, with heat index values in the mid 90s possible. By Sunday, an upper level disturbance sneaks across the northern Great Lakes, bringing increasing cloud cover and the chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms. With the increased instability, the chance for pop-up thunderstorms will linger into Monday and Tuesday, until potent cold front crosses the area Tuesday evening.
