Forecast Discussion
Strong upper level ridging and surface high pressure has been keeping us dry the past few days and creating foggy conditions during the early morning hours. Expect fog during your morning commute tomorrow as well, so please use extra caution! Plentiful sunshine is in store for us to close off the work week, but unfortunately, showers and thunderstorms will appear in the forecast starting as early as Saturday afternoon as the next disturbance moves into the area. This system will be comprised of an upper shortwave trough and an upper low pressure, which will drive a surface frontal boundary through and turn stationary just to the north of our region come Saturday night. Although there are chances for thunderstorms, no severe weather is anticipated. Along with this disturbance, gusty winds up to 25mph-35mph are possible. Rain chances will more than likely end by Sunday afternoon at the latest as the stationary front transitions to a cold front and pushes out, with much drier air filtering in behind it to start out the new work week.
