Forecast Discussion

A stationary front is sitting over top of the eastern part of Ohio. This front is producing the clouds and rain showers for tonight. On Friday, the surrounding areas will feel the impacts of Hurricane Helene as it makes landfall and passes over land. This will bring showers and thunderstorms with wind speeds of up to 17 mph and gusts as high as 33 mph. Southeast Ohio will continue to get precipitation from Helen through the rest of the weekend until the low starts to decrease in intensity.

There is a chance of rain showers Sunday night; that is do to Helen. The winds will not be as strong as what they are predicted to be on Friday. Rain showers are expected through the beginning of next week and fading out after Tuesday night as a high-pressure system sets in.
