Tonight will be quite mild as we start to become influenced by the warm sector of a strong low pressure system, with lows in the 60s. Tomorrow will be a very warm day, with highs in the mid to upper 80s by the afternoon hours! These warm temperatures will come with chances for showers and thunderstorms ahead of an approaching cold front, with some thunderstorms having the potential to become severe. The Storm Prediction Center currently has much of southeast Ohio under a slight risk for severe weather; the main threats will be damaging winds, heavy rainfall, and even an isolated tornado. Model guidance is showing a line of severe storms beginning to fire up later in the evening tomorrow, which means that there will be a loss of daytime convection, thus having the storms weaken in intensity as they approach the region. The previously mentioned threats are still fair game, however, so make sure to stay weather aware! Showers and thunderstorms will also be possible on Thursday as the cold front gradually makes its way through, but precipitation chances should begin to decrease throughout the day. After severe weather chances disappear, high pressure will become the dominant feature, bringing temperatures back to near normal and drier conditions to close out the work week and into the weekend.
