High-pressure will remain in the Ohio Valley through Wednesday until a shortwave trough moves through the area Wednesday night into Thursday. There is some instability to support some embedded storms where a few rumbles of thunder cannot be ruled out. Another brief break in the rain will occur on Friday with another high-pressure system associated to the south. There is a weak shortwave trough that will move through over the weekend, but there is a likelihood that the rain stays in northern Ohio and could possibly miss southeast Ohio. However, a stray shower or storm cannot be ruled out.
