Dangerous heat will continue through the week in Southeast Ohio. Tonight, temperatures will fall to 72 degrees, providing little overnight relief in addition to excessive humidity despite the chance of an isolated thunderstorm. An Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect through Wednesday for heat index values up to 105 degrees. In addition to a high of 95 degrees tomorrow, muggy conditions are expected to persist as well. This will make any outdoor activity hazardous without proper hydration and means to cool off. An isolated shower or thunderstorm is possible in the afternoon into the evening as a result of this instability. Conditions are likely to remain the same on Thursday, with isolated storms possible in the later portion of the day due to hot and humid weather.

Small and gradual relief from the dangerous heat is likely to occur by the end of the weekend. As partly cloudy skies continue, with isolated or scattered thunderstorms possible, temperatures will return to the low 90s by Sunday. However, this remains a prolonged heat wave, and the larger atmospheric pattern does not seem to budge until later into next week. As such, continue to exercise caution when being outside to prevent heat-related illness.
