Forecast Discussion

Due to our low humidity as well as high temperatures and higher winds the National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch for Athens County. This will be in effect Wednesday from 11 am till 10 pm. Refrain from doing any burning during this time as it may spark into something bigger than intended.

Tonight we can expect to see partly cloudy skies with lows in the 40s. Like today, Wednesday will be in the 70s with showers coming into our region late Wednesday night, but we are in an elevated risk for fire weather. Enjoy the above-average temperatures while they are here as a cold front will be making its way through our area late Thursday morning causing our temperatures to be more typical for this time of year to end our week and enter into the weekend. We will begin to warm back up into the 60s over the weekend, however, that will be spoiled by another cold front coming into our region on Monday.
