Technical Forecast Discussion Meet the Forecaster

Forecast Discussion

High pressure at the surface is keeping conditions dry for the Athens region. Conditions are expected to stay dry for the rest of the week. On Wednesday, the upper levels indicate a slight trough pattern along with a strong jet streak. A low pressure system and a cold front are associated with these disturbances. Winds should be stronger throughout the day on Wednesday due to tight gradients. Alongside with that, a slight warming will occur on Wednesday before a dry cold front passes through our area. As the weekend approaches, guidance is strongly disagreeing with the placement of the remnants of Hurricane Delta. There is a chance our area will see cloud coverage and precipitation from Hurricane Delta on the weekend.
