Today’s clouds will gradually exit the area by the later evening hours, becoming mostly clear overnight. Pressure that had built up today will begin to drop as the sun rises on Thursday as a very deep and narrow trough moves into the Midwest. Partly cloudy skies are to be expected throughout Thursday with temperatures resuming a more seasonal mid-80s. As the evening approaches, more clouds will begin to move through the area as pressure drops further, and in the evening hours, a line of thunderstorms along a cold front will move through the area. Due to weak instability, however, these thunderstorms will neither be severe nor lengthy, so expect any rain to taper off by the later evening.

Overnight Thursday, a heavier cloud cover will thin, becoming more partly cloudy by the morning hours, which will persist through Friday. A ridging pattern will develop once more, bringing pressure back up and returning us to warmer temperatures as well. Calmer conditions will linger through the weekend and into the early week, with minimal clouds but with temperatures rising into the lower-to-mid 90s by the start of next week.
