Hot weather continues as our area still remains parked under a strong upper-level ridge. Stronger flow from the south will make for more humid weather as well, which will continue to be prevalent through the rest of this working week. Overnight tonight, more of the afternoon and evening clouds will move out of the area to make for more clear skies. However, clouds return tomorrow as the high once again reaches around 96 degrees. In addition, a stationary front that has situated itself over the region could possibly spur up an isolated shower or storm throughout the day. Similar conditions are possible on Friday as well, with a high near 97 degrees and more isolated and scattered pop-up storms possible.

This unpleasant weather will soon be over, though, as an upper-level trough supporting a more mature surface low pressure system swings into the area on Saturday, kicking up more organized thunderstorms for the area into the evening along a prominent cold front. The severe potential is still too uncertain to state with confidence, however. Once this front passes, our area will be reintroduced to cooler weather back down to the high 80s for Sunday. In addition, a secondary cold front ahead of a quite strong high pressure system will reach our region overnight Sunday into Monday, which will promote much calmer, drier, and cooler temperatures back down to the low 80s to start off the new week.
