Forecast Discussion
High pressure will move out of the area tonight, bringing increasing clouds early in the morning. This is due to an approaching low-pressure system over the Great Lakes bringing a shortwave trough through the area. A warm front will move through in the morning bringing afternoon high temperatures into the mid-50s with enhanced warm air advection. However, a cold front will move through in the evening bringing colder temperatures for Friday. A chance of light showers late in the morning into the afternoon is likely with this system.
A brief break will occur between Thursday evening and Friday afternoon before a low-pressure system to our south progresses northeast. This system will remain to our south, but since we are located north of the cold front, a rain/snow mix will likely occur in the afternoon transitioning to snow in the evening when it drops below freezing. Snow accumulations of about 1-2 inches are likely with this system. Once the snow moves out Friday evening into early Saturday morning, high-pressure builds, and skies will begin clearing.
