Forecast Discussion

National Weather Service out of Charleston, WV issued a Flash Flood Watch until July 4th, 10pm EDT

Showers are currently in the area as of 8pm, but will slowly dwindle as the evening progresses. Fog may be an issue later this evening and early tomorrow morning as this low-level moisture will remain in place, especially in the lowlands. Continuing this heat and humidity trend for Independence Day and into Saturday as more moisture will continue to filter in the region. Temperatures stay consistent will highs into the mid-upper 80s with more chances for these spotty storms to pop-up. Precipitation can quickly accumulate as these storms have been previously slow-moving. Subtle relief comes in late weekend with a cold front moving through from the north late on Saturday.
