Forecast Discussion

Some scattered clouds overnight will close out another warm, summer-like day. By morning, more clouds will begin to build, becoming completely overcast by the afternoon. High pressure still remains for most of Thursday, but these clouds are a result of an approaching cold front from a trough that is soon to disrupt our current ridge pattern. Thursday could see a few showers in the evening hours, with a greater chance of rain arriving overnight.

By early Friday morning, rain will likely be falling, with accumulations over a quarter of an inch possible. Rain will taper off by the later morning, and very quickly will you notice the drop in temperature due to the passage of the cold front. Highs will be in the low 70s Friday, and drop even lower into the high 50s through the weekend, beginning our first blast of real fall weather. Much cooler temperatures and some higher wind gusts might make for a chilly Homecoming, but any chances of a rain-out are next to nothing!
