Forecast Discussion
The heat this week will be taking a break these next few hours as a cold front begins to pass thorugh the region. A large low-pressure system sitting in Ontario has a large cold front accompanying it, stretching down through the Midwest and Great Plains. As the front passes, it will interact with the current warm, moist air to create a series of thunderstorms that we can expect to start in the early morning on Thursday and persist throughout the day, ending in the evening. Along with rain, the passing front will lead to temperatures to drop into the mid 60s with relief to come quickly on Friday. The warmer temperatures and clear conditions expected on Friday are a result of a mild high-pressure system. This shift in pressure will help to elevate wind speeds, specifically in the afternoon.
