Forecast Discussion

Some areas of fog are possible this morning, especially around the Hocking River, as temperatures quickly rise. Today will be partly cloudy and calm, as we are now completely within the trough that had arrived yesterday. It may be a little breezier than we’re previously used to, though nothing should exceed 15 mph. These pleasant conditions will last into the night, as clear skies prevail. Temperatures will drop into the mid 40s overnight, and so another chance of morning fog is increasingly likely tomorrow as well.

After the fog has dissipated, a day of mostly sunny skies is in store. The trough will have mainly moved out of the area by then, leaving us with a more zonal pattern of flow, making for calm conditions again. This pattern is likely to continue for the following days, as a ridge begins to develop in our area. As the ridge grows, temperatures will steadily rise, peaking in the low 80s by the late week. As per usual with a ridging pattern, pressure will be high and precipitation will be sparse, so enjoy these warm, calm days on the edge of autumn.
