A surface high-pressure system will keep things clear and dry for the time being, but an incoming cold front is about to change that for a few days. As the cold front approaches, clouds will start to build overnight into tomorrow, as well as increasing chances for showers and thunderstorms. Some thunderstorms tomorrow may be severe, and the Storm Prediction Center has the area in a Slight Risk (2/5) for severe weather with the main hazard being damaging wind gusts, but there is a hail threat with steeper lapse rates present as well. Thankfully at this time, the tornado threat appears to be minimal with these storms.

Thursday, the cold front will actually make its way through and bring a nice cool down in the daytime temperatures, as low as the high 70s. This won’t last long, as an occluded system begins to make its way through our region bringing a warm front, and subsequently more clouds and rain for the weekend. It looks like a wet week of weather ahead, so make sure you have your rain jacket or umbrella ready!
