Over the next 36-48 hours, we will continue to see on and off precipitation either in the form of thunderstorms or just rain showers. This is due to a massive trough, which is digging towards the south. This trough will basically stay in place for the next several days. However, as this trough moves slowly to the east, we will eventually experience very pleasant weather starting on Tuesday because while a trough does bring precipitation, that’s usually on the front end of the trough, while the back end of the trough usually doesn’t have precipitation. So as such, it will mostly be sunny starting on Tuesday. Troughs also tend to bring down cooler air, so that is why it will be pleasant starting, arguably, even on Monday despite the cloud cover. So for high temperatures, tomorrow (Sunday) will be in the high 70s, Monday and Tuesday will be in the mid 70s, Wednesday will be in the high 70s, and Thursday will be in the low 80s as the trough starts to finally fully exit. So, enjoy the weather this next week, especially since it is not all that often we experience this kind of pleasant weather in August.
