Technical Forecast Discussion
Short-term Forecast (Sunday 09/22/2024 through Tuesday 09/24/2024)
Sunday evening a weak frontal boundary moved through southeastern Ohio bringing an increase in both moisture and stability. Cloud coverage increased throughout the day as well as the chance for some rain showers and some thunderstorms overnight. Monday, the frontal system will stall across the region delivering mostly cloudy skies and the chance for some intermittent rain throughout the day as moisture remains. Conditions will shift on Tuesday as forcing from a low-pressure system moving through from the west will increase the chance for precipitation throughout the day as moisture builds further. There is also the chance for some thunderstorms as instability increases but none are expected to be severe. As the cold front pushes through, cooler temperatures into the upper 70s are expected.
Long-term Forecast (Wednesday 09/25/2024 through Saturday 09/28/2024):
Wednesday, mostly cloudy skies and the chance for some scattered thunderstorms and rain showers will remain as moisture lingers into Thursday morning. Throughout the day Thursday into Friday, conditions will clear as high pressure begins to build within the region delivering drier conditions. By HOUmecoming Saturday, the upper-level ridge should be in place bringing mostly sunny skies and pleasant conditions!
