Forecast Discussion
After the last couple rounds of severe weather, southeast Ohio is finally in for a stretch of very nice weather. A strong high-pressure system is expected to set up tomorrow over the Tennesee Valley area, bringing a ridging pattern to our area. This will lead to dry and pleasant weather through at least the end of the week, as reflected by the Climate Prediction Center’s 6-10 Day Temperature and Precip. Outlook, that shows the region having below-average precipitation as well as slightly above-average temperatures over the next week or so. Thursday, we can expect some slightly breezy conditions with another trough that is anticipated to bring a cold front. Some precipitation is possible on Thursday night into Friday, but QPF totals are expected to be minimal at this time.
Through the extended forecast, the same conditions are expected, with mostly sunny/clear skies and temperatures reaching the high 80s and low 90s by Sunday. To thank for this will be another high-pressure system that will take place associated with strong upper-level ridging after the cold front passes through.
