It certainly has been another spectacular day so far, but we have seen clouds move over Athens since late afternoon hours in response of post-tropical cyclone Beta over southwestern Louisiana moving northeastward. As remnants of Beta moves northeast, we will have increasing clouds through overnight hours. Expect lows to be in the mid-50’s. Cloud coverage remain in place during daytime tomorrow as temperatures warm up into upper 70’s. Clouds will clear out somewhat during Thursday night into Friday morning as temps once again fall back down into mid 50’s. Daytime highs in Friday will be touch cooler with highs in mid 70’s along with cloudy skies as quick shortwave trough moves through our area. By late Friday, trough departs Athens and our weather pattern becomes more zonal, allowing our temperatures to come up a bit with highs in upper 70’s to low 80’s with lows in the lower 60’s through majority of weekend. Another cold front approaches our area by late Sunday which will bring isolated thunderstorm risk during Sunday night into mid-morning hours of Monday. Our temperatures will cool down once again with highs in the 70’s for Monday.
