Forecast Discussion

A strong high pressure associated with a cool airmass will continue to move its way down into our area today. This will continue to clear the skies out today, on top of bringing in seasonable fall-like temperatures to the area. Today will be a beautiful day to be out and about for this time of year. The same pattern should hold true over the area for the remainder of the short term. As we go into the latter part of the week, rain chances will increase as the remnants of Hurricane Sally will make its way into the Tennessee Valley. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible Thursday. As the system moves away Friday, much cooler temperatures will move into the region, as a dip in the jet stream makes its way into our area. Highs to start the weekend will likely not get out of the 60s.
