Technical Forecast Discussion Meet the Forecaster

Issued: 12pm on Wednesday, October 7th 2020

Forecast Discussion

A mainly calm pattern is expected to take shape over the end of this week. With an area of high pressure off to the east, and a low off to the north, winds will be southerly. This will pump warmer air into the area for the day Wednesday. Highs will be in the upper 70s and lower 80s across the forecast area. A dry cold front associated with the northern low will push through tonight, cooling the area off into the low 40s tonight, and mid 60s tomorrow. An arctic high will move in Thursday, keeping the area cool and dry for the time being. Clouds and precipitation will not make their return to the region until the weekend, when another system due to dipping in the southern branch of the jet makes its way in.
