An upper level trough pattern in the jet stream moves into the area throughout the day today. In addition to this pattern, the area looks to also experience the influence of a low pressure system and associated cold front that looks to move across the area sometime tonight. Associated with this front comes increasing cloudiness throughout the day today as well as increasing rain/thunderstorm chances by tonight. This frontal system stalls out across the region on Thursday, which will again provide the chance for showers and thunderstorms across the area with mostly cloudy skies. On Friday, the influence of the stalled front that has now moved East of the region in addition to the approaching warm front from the West will keep skies mostly cloudy. However, conditions should remain dry due to the amount of dry air moving into the area. The day Saturday looks to be partly cloudy with a high in the mid 80s but with a chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms due to an upper level trough pattern. On Sunday, while skies will again remain partly cloudy, an increasing chance for showers and thunderstorms returns by the afternoon due to ample moisture and the upper level trough pattern.
