Upper level dipping in the jet stream and associated rising motion initiated showers and thunderstorms today across the forecast area. This will eventually move off to the east, allowing cresting in the jet stream to build in across much of the forecast area. This will warm up temperatures for the beginning of the week. Highs should reach the upper 80s and lower 90s across much of SE Ohio. Scattered thunderstorms may be possible Monday afternoon, as air will interact along a lake breeze, but 95% of the forecast area should stay dry Monday. Tuesday comes the next chance of weather with afternoon Thunderstorms (more likely further east) likely across SE Ohio. A few of these storms may be severe with damaging wind gusts. Monitor the latest forecast. After storms clear out Tuesday, temperatures will remain warm during the latter part of the week. Highs will remain in the upper 80s and lower 90s through at least Friday.
