Forecast Discussion

An upper level crest in the jet stream will continue to provide the area with heat. A weak frontal boundary sitting near the Ohio river will lift off to the north tomorrow, providing sufficient forcing for scattered afternoon showers and thunderstorms. These storms should be relatively short-lived, slow moving, and non-severe. An isolated gusty storm is possible with strongest storms. A dip in the jet stream will begin to develop over the area over the next few days, slowly increasing our chances for showers and thunderstorms with each day. Saturday should be the best chance of seeing rain, with highs cooling way down into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Expect the cooler than normal pattern to persist into next week, as a dip in the jet stream will continue to remain over the area for the next 6-10 days.
