Forecast Discussion

Weak zonal flow in the jetstream will allow a surface high pressure remain over the area for the first half of the day today. A weak, fast moving surface low, as a result of a weak upper level jet streak, will move through the Tennessee valley, providing southeastern Ohio with chances of a rain-snow mix, and freezing rain tonight. All precipitation will eventually change over to rain by Friday morning. The rain will clear out by Friday afternoon, but clouds from another surface low further south will remain over the area into Saturday. Sunday night into Monday brings the potential of a winter storm, with possible snow accumulations of 3-5″ or more of snow. Stay tuned in later forecasts for more information on this feature.
