An Extreme Cold Warning is in effect for Athens, OH from 7:00pm tonight the 26th to 12:00pm tomorrow January 27th; dangerously cold wind chills as low as -17ºF are expected.

Cloud cover moved in later today and will stick around as we move through the midweek and into the weekend, clearing out a little during the nights and allowing lows to drop down to the single digits or well into the negatives. At the moment, the Extreme Cold Warning is only until noon on the 27th, but chances are high for extensions throughout the week as wind chills will be dangerously low. Daytime highs will hover in the teens through the week and not hit the mid-20s until about Sunday.
