Spring is still springing, and with some unpredictable weather to boot. Tonight carries a chance of brief rain showers throughout the night and into early tomorrow morning. Saturday will continue the toasty weather with highs in the 80’s, but this heating may bring, you guessed it, more rain showers to the Athens area by the afternoon.

However, the potential for showers during the day is merely a prelude to the cold front that will come through as the sun comes down. Expect rain and occasional rumbles of thunder as it races to the east, dropping lows back down into the 40’s.

This chillier air will remain with us through the day on Easter Sunday, keeping highs to around the mid 50’s for the day’s Easter egg hunts, or in other words, just cold enough that the parents among you will put sweaters on the kids, and just warm enough that those same kids will insist they don’t need them. I know, I was a kid once. And maybe I still am.
